After an extensive renovation, the Music and Dramatic Arts Building at Louisiana State University is ready for its grand re-dedication, this Sunday, September 20th, 2009.
HMS restored, renovated, and redesigned this historic Art Deco building to house all the functions needed for world-class schools of music, theater, and dance, winning several awards for the end result.
The existing Depression-era Facility was renovated with state-of-the-art spaces, including the Shaver Theatre, a black box theater, dance rehearsal studio, acrobatic rehearsal studio, percussion rehearsal room, scene shop, scene drafting/CADD studio, costume shop, classrooms, piano studio, instrument lockers, practice rooms, faculty offices, administrative offices, and even a student lounge.
To commemorate the occasion, LSU is hosting a series of events over the course of this weekend, culminating in the re-dedication this Sunday.
