Construction begins on the Hahnville High School Field House and Exercise Building.

HMS Architects has finished the drawings, and construction is underway on the Hahnville High School Field House and Exercise Buildings. Hahnville High School is located in Boutte, Louisiana and is part of the St. Charles Parish Public School System. The field house consists of four renovated locker rooms (Football Locker Room and Freshman Football, Track and Field, and an enlarged Girls P.E. Locker Room ) in addition to a meeting room, training suite, conference room, coaches offices, and a storage facility. The new exercise building consists of a weight room and a general exercise room, with a retractable batting cage system. Construction is expected to finish before the beginning of next season.  The general contractor is Crescent Commercial Construction.

Nate Walker Gets Licensed



Nate Walker, RA, LEED AP has recently completed all of his Intern Development Program (IDP) training, and successfully passed all of his Architectural Registration Examinations (ARE). Nate's path to becoming a licensed architect is now complete. Nate becomes the tenth licensed architect at HMS Architects. All of us at HMS Architects congratulate Nate on this accomplishment!

Construction underway for the Tulane Catholic Center



The Tulane Catholic Center is now under construction by F. H. Meyers construction. This three-story, 8,400 square foot building will be constructed with a rain screen siding system on structural metal studs. This building will contain a social area, a chapel with a sacristy, a conference room, two classrooms, and a small library with a study room.



Construction took about a year, starting in September of 2014, and is anticipated to take about a year to construct, for approximately 2 million dollars

Groundbreaking held for Louisiana Pain Specialist building


Ground was broken on the new building for Louisiana pain Specialists on January 17th, 2014.  The new building, located at 3530 Houma Boulevard, will contain the 17,000+ SF offices of Louisiana Pain Specialists, as well as an additional 17,000+ square feet of available office space for other medical tenants.  The building also contains covered public parking, as well as a raised outdoor terrace.

The contractor, Striker Construction, plans to complete the building by early 2015.

Casper College Music Building Dedication

Casper College celebrated the completion of their new music building with a dedication ceremony on October 13. The new music building for the college was designed by HMS Architects in collaboration with MOA ARCHITECTURE of Denver. The 34,000 square foot facility provides the music department with an array of spaces including ten music practice rooms, three large music rehearsal spaces, ten faculty studios and a 417-seat Concert Hall. The building located at a prominent campus entrance also features an open two story lobby, music recording suite, two music classrooms and an administrative suite. The total of these spaces provides Casper College with the facilities they need to develop their music program and meet their academic mission.

HMS to host tour of facilities as part of ICFAD conference in New Orleans

HMS Architects are proud to be involved in the International Council of Fine Arts Deans (ICFAD) annual conference celebrating 50 years. HMS is offering a tour of two recently completed fine arts facilities at Louisiana State University. The tour on October 23 will feature the Music & Dramatic Arts building as well as the Student Union Theater. The tour will demonstrate the results of carefully planned renovations.
